NPR highlights ALIMA’s work in Cameroon

The U.S. media outlet NPR dedicates an episode of its podcast Planet Money to ALIMA’s work in Cameroon’s Far North region, at a time of intense pressure on international aid funding.

Through this report, Planet Money explores the consequences of the collapse in funding and the decisions made by philanthropic actors seeking to respond. The episode notably follows the evaluation process led by GiveWell as it considers supporting a health project implemented by ALIMA in Cameroon.

The podcast sheds light on the realities on the ground in a region affected by insecurity, malnutrition, and critical medical needs, as well as the complex choices humanitarian organizations face in maintaining access to healthcare. It also highlights the importance of flexible and rapid funding to ensure continuity of operations in particularly fragile contexts.
