RISQ Score: A vital tool for treating children in emergencies

How can you determine whether a child needs urgent care with only a few minutes to assess them? In Chad, ALIMA and its partners are testing an innovative solution called the RISQ score that may help make this simple.

This tool uses seven vital parameters to help healthcare workers quickly identify children who require immediate care. A clinical trial has been underway in 34 health centers across the country’s Ngouri district since September 2023. This breakthrough could transform the way children are cared for in humanitarian settings. Since September 2023, a clinical trial has been conducted in 34 health centers in the Ngouri district.
