El Fasher, Sudan: John’s call in the face of the medical emergency

Across the town of Tawila, the humanitarian emergency is intensifying. Thousands of people who fled the violence in El Fasher and Zam Zam are now struggling to survive in makeshift tents, without adequate access to water, food, or healthcare.

Faced with this unprecedented influx, which has caused a sharp increase in cases of severe acute malnutrition among children, our teams are sending out mobile clinics to treat the most vulnerable people.

As the first heavy rains of the season approach, ALIMA is also responding to a new cholera epidemic that has emerged in the region, strengthening our response to contain the spread.

📽️ In our latest video, John, ALIMA’s medical coordinator, explains the gravity of the situation. He calls for urgent mobilization to strengthen the humanitarian response.
