In response to growing humanitarian needs and declining international funding, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), alongside major financial and operational partners, is launching the One Childhood, One Chance Alliance.
This new international coalition aims to strengthen the prevention and treatment of acute malnutrition in the most fragile settings.
Already supported by more than $500 million in commitments, the Alliance aims to reach at least 5 million children living in crisis-hit settings with access to essential life-saving nutrition treatment and services.
The coalition also aims to integrate other vital health services, such as malaria treatment, immunizations, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), where possible.
For ALIMA, which treats thousands of children suffering from acute malnutrition every year, this initiative marks a major step forward.
“For ALIMA’s medical teams working on the front line alongside patients every day and treating children suffering from acute malnutrition, including in its most severe form, this is a decisive shift. The CIFF-led Alliance is a game changer: it will enable millions of the most vulnerable children to access advanced nutrition services and, in many cases, save their lives. At a time of historic cuts to humanitarian funding, this collective commitment is one of the strongest responses we have today. We must now go further: more donors need to join this effort to reach and save more children.”
