ALIMA Kenya hosts ALIMA’s regional platform for East Africa. Based in Nairobi, this structure plays a key role in developing ALIMA’s activities in a region affected by complex humanitarian crises, driven in particular by conflict, population displacement, climate shocks, and fragile health systems.

The regional platform helps strengthen ALIMA’s capacity to respond to health emergencies in East Africa. It facilitates coordination with humanitarian actors, supports the deployment of operations, and fosters the development of strategic partnerships, particularly in the medical, operational, and academic fields.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of ALIMA Kenya supports the definition of ALIMA’s strategic priorities in the region and helps ensure the organization’s institutional strength. Composed of professionals with diverse areas of expertise, it contributes to ensuring legal compliance, good governance, and the financial stability of the structure.

Board members serve on a voluntary basis. Through their experience and commitment, they put their skills at the service of ALIMA’s mission to respond to the humanitarian challenges facing the region.

Locally Rooted Governance Aligned with ALIMA

The Board of Directors of ALIMA Kenya is composed of six members with complementary profiles, including four Kenyan citizens. This composition helps ensure both strong local grounding and governance that is adapted to the realities of the contexts in which ALIMA operates.

To ensure alignment with ALIMA’s global strategic priorities, two permanent representatives appointed by ALIMA also sit on the Board of Directors.

ALIMA’s Regional Representative for East Africa also sits on the Board as an ex officio member, helping strengthen the link between the Board’s strategic guidance and the activities implemented by ALIMA teams in the region.
