A humanitarian physician with NGO ALIMA tests positive

A humanitarian physician with the NGO ALIMA, returning from a mission, tested positive today.

The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) confirms today a first positive case of Ebola virus
disease among its staff. The individual is a humanitarian physician who recently returned to France from
one of the areas where the virus is circulating in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He has been
immediately admitted to a specialized facility in France and is in stable condition.

The NGO ALIMA, a major actor in the Ebola epidemic response, was the first to deploy in the field.
Contamination prevention measures have been in place since the beginning of our intervention to protect
our teams. However, in a context of high viral circulation, where our medical teams are exposed, we are
working to understand how the contamination may have occurred.

Our field operations continue. ALIMA is working closely with health authorities and remains committed to
fighting the epidemic.
