ALIMA USA’s Board of Directors

ALIMA USA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which provides oversight of all U.S.-based activities. While ALIMA USA operates as a separate legal entity, it shares a deep alignment with ALIMA in mission, values, and purpose.

The two organizations have defined their relationship as one of equal but independent organizations. This partnership reflects their mutual commitment to delivering high-quality, locally driven medical care to communities affected by conflict, epidemics, and natural disasters.

ALIMA USA is dedicated to supporting ALIMA’s field work by fundraising, communicating, advocating, and representing ALIMA’s mission and impact in the United States. Through these efforts, ALIMA USA helps mobilize the financial resources, public awareness, and strategic partnerships necessary to strengthen and expand ALIMA’s lifesaving operations around the world.

ALIMA USA’s Board of Directors is composed of 12 elected members who serve renewable three-year terms. To support the organization’s mission and ensure strategic oversight, the Board has established four standing committees, each with appointed members responsible for coordinating key areas of ALIMA USA’s work and advancing its impact in the United States.

Board+

Board+ is ALIMA USA’s young professionals board — a dynamic group of emerging leaders dedicated to advancing ALIMA’s mission through engagement, advocacy, and innovation. Comprised of passionate professionals from across the U.S., Board+ plays a vital role in raising awareness of ALIMA’s work and cultivating the next generation of supporters.

Members amplify ALIMA’s impact by organizing events such as panel discussions, speaking engagements, webinars, and pro bono initiatives. They support ALIMA USA’s events, expand social media outreach, promote a U.S.-based volunteer program, and help build strategic partnerships.

In close collaboration with the ALIMA USA Board of Directors, Board+ ensures its work aligns with organizational goals. Through creativity, commitment, and expertise, Board+ members help drive ALIMA’s lifesaving work forward.
