Localization of Aid: Ten Years After the Grand Bargain, What Progress Has Been Made?

In an interview published by IRIS (the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs), Dr. Moumouni Kinda, CEO of ALIMA, reflects on the progress of aid localization ten years after the Grand Bargain, in a context of profound restructuring driven by a drastic decline in humanitarian funding.

He examines the persistent imbalances between international humanitarian actors and local organizations, the political and institutional barriers to the effective transfer of resources and leadership, as well as the impact of recent shifts in funding policies on the autonomy of civil society organizations.

Through this contribution, ALIMA reaffirms its commitment to more equitable partnerships and to a tangible sharing of power within the international humanitarian system.
