Our Work on the Ground: Addressing Urgent Needs

🇲🇱 MALI: Protecting the Most Vulnerable from Health and Nutrition Crises

Conflict and climate change in Mali are exacerbating food shortages and making access to healthcare increasingly challenging.

When I was told that my child was malnourished, I panicked. I had no idea how I would afford the care. But here, we were welcomed without any cost. Within weeks, my child regained her appetite and strength. This centre gave me hope.

🇳🇪 NIGER: Limited Access to Healthcare, a Growing Humanitarian Emergency

In remote regions of Niger, the lack of health centres is putting thousands of children and pregnant women at risk. Epidemics and malnutrition are spreading rapidly.

My son had a fever and stopped eating. I thought it was malaria, but at the health centre, I was told that he was also severely malnourished. ALIMA took care of everything. Today, he’s doing better and playing again. I am endlessly grateful for the help that saved my child.

🇲🇷 MAURITANIA: Child Malnutrition and Access to Vaccines, a Critical Issue

In parts of Mauritania, access to healthcare and nutrition is a daily challenge. Without medical follow-up, childhood illnesses, and malnutrition can become life-threatening.

When my daughter got sick, she couldn't get up. She was so weak that she slept almost all the time. I went to the health centre, where I was told that she was severely malnourished. Thanks to ALIMA's free care, she has regained her strength. Without this help, I don't know if she would have survived.

🇸🇩 SUDAN: Providing Essential Healthcare to Displaced People

The conflict in Sudan has forced thousands of families to flee their homes, depriving them of access to basic healthcare. Vulnerable to epidemics, malnutrition, and violence, these populations need immediate support

Wael, a 2-year-old boy, arrived at our centre with severe malnutrition and breathing difficulties. He weighed just 5 kg. We immediately treated his critical condition. After two weeks of care, Wael had regained weight and strength. Many children, like Wael, arrive in alarming conditions every day. Thanks to the support of ALIMA and donors, we are able to give them a chance to survive.
