In Chad, Plastic Bags Turned Into Bricks | Plastik ALIMA Project (Video)

In Chad, empty sachets from nutritional products are collected at health centers and then transformed into bricks by RECYDEP, ALIMA’s local partner. Through the PLASTIK project, this plastic waste is given a second life.

First results: over 6,000 kg of sachets collected, over 5,000 bricks made. These bricks are already being used to build toilets and logistics warehouses.

“The result is already there, we experimented and it worked.”

Mahamat Haroun Ibrahim, project manager

After N’Djamena, this pilot initiative is now being scaled up to other ALIMA sites in Chad.

This project was supported by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs – CDCS.
