At Ngouri, a Hospital Adapts to Climate Change to Keep Providing Care
In Ngouri, in northwestern Chad, temperatures regularly soar above 113°F (45°C). When the power grid fails, diesel generators take over, as long as fuel is available.
“Our Biggest Challenge Was Raising Awareness”: Measles Response at the Zabout Camp
At the Zabout camp, in Sila Province, ALIMA and Alerte Santé led a large-scale response to a measles outbreak within the Sudanese refugee community, from early February to mid-March. Mbera: understanding a refugee crisis that has lasted for 14 years
In Mauritania, the Mbera camp was designed to host 70,000 people. Today, it shelters around 120,000. Since 2012, families fleeing violence in Mali have sought refuge there, in a region where resources, healthcare services, water, and food are under pressure.
Mohamed, a Malian refugee who now supports other families (video)
Mohamed left Mali with his family in 2012. After several displacements, he found refuge in Mauritania, where his daughter was treated for malnutrition. Today, she is doing better. Mohamed now supports other refugee families himself as a mental health worker.
