Our Model
ALIMA is an international medical NGO founded in 2009 that provides quality healthcare to the most vulnerable populations. It is recognized for its expertise in maternal and child health, malnutrition, epidemics and emerging diseases, as well as research and innovation.

Who we are
ALIMA (The Alliance for International Medical Action) is a medical humanitarian organization founded in 2009 to bring quality healthcare to communities impacted by health crises. In 15 years, ALIMA has treated over 13 million people in 15 countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its expertise in maternal and child health, malnutrition treatment, response to epidemics and emerging diseases, and research and innovation.
ALIMA’s effectiveness is based on three principles:
an alliance between local and international actors (national NGOs, ministries of health, international research institutes);
strong local roots (95% of our teams are from the countries where we work and our headquarters are located in Dakar, Senegal);
and constant innovation to transform humanitarian medicine (28% of ALIMA’s activities are dedicated to research). ALIMA is the recipient of several international awards for its humanitarian work.
