![Surviving hypoxemia can be a challenge in some parts of the world. Hypoxemia is a lack of oxygen in the blood that can be fatal if not treated correctly. The results of operational research conducted by ALIMA (The Alliance for International Medical Action), Terre des hommes, Solthis, and Inserm, show that using pulse oximeters during medical consultations for children can help improve child survival in sub-Saharan Africa.
