The coronavirus has arrived on the African continent. The spread of the virus is inevitable and the lack of medical equipment and health care personnel could lead to a mortality rate three times higher than in European countries.
Our medical teams on the ground are warning:
“We, at ALIMA, we are doctors, we are emergency medical specialists, we know how to respond to outbreaks such as Ebola, Lassa fever or cholera. Every day, we admit patients affected by the coronavirus. But we need more equipment to treat them.
