Our expertise
A global approach to fight effectively.
ALIMA responds to humanitarian crises in regions facing conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, and other emergency situations, where medical needs are most urgent. We combine emergency care with long-term research projects to develop new solutions and sustainably improve healthcare for at-risk populations.
A fast and efficient response through our local network
During crises—whether malnutrition, epidemics, conflict, or natural disasters—national health systems can become strained, putting lives at risk. Thanks to our NGO partners and local teams (95% of our staff are from the countries where we operate), ALIMA quickly delivers high-quality, adaptable care.
Women and children are often the most vulnerable during humanitarian crises, accounting for 80% of our beneficiaries. That’s why we partner with local and national authorities to provide free prevention, nutrition, pediatrics care, and maternal health programs to address their specific needs.
Sustainable impact through innovation and partnership
Since our creation, ALIMA has been committed to providing emergency medical care while transforming humanitarian intervention through sustainable approaches. By working closely with local authorities, partners, and international experts, we deliver healthcare solutions adapted to each crisis while building long-term community resilience.
Our 7 Areas of Expertise
Epidemics and emerging diseases
When epidemics like Ebola, Mpox, or cholera strike, ALIMA on the front lines, ready to respond. We work closely with local authorities to contain outbreaks through swift, targeted responses.
Malnutrition
Each year, malnutrition threatens the lives of millions of children. ALIMA takes a comprehensive approach, identifying cases early, providing treatment, and preventing future occurrences, all while strengthening local health systems.
Women's Health
Women's health is at the heart of our mission. From prenatal care and safe deliveries to postnatal follow-ups and complication prevention, ALIMA provides comprehensive support for women.
Pediatrics
Children are especially vulnerable during crises. Our medical teams mobilize to deliver specialized care to at-risk children when they need it most.
Mental health
Humanitarian crises impact both physical health and mental well-being. ALIMA provides mental health support for patients, families, and caregivers facing trauma.
Research and innovation
ALIMA conducts clinical and operational research to transform humanitarian practices and introduce more effective treatments, such as simplified approaches to treating malnutrition. The impact of these innovations has been recognized globally, including the "Game Changing Innovator" award from Bill Gates for the CUBE.
Strengthening the health system
ALIMA believes in creating lasting change in healthcare. By training local healthcare workers and upgrading medical equipment, we help build stronger, more resilient health systems that will serve communities for years to come.
