Our expertise
A global approach to fight effectively.
ALIMA responds to humanitarian crises in conflict zones as well as regions facing epidemics and malnutrition, where medical needs are most urgent. We combine emergency care with long-term research projects to develop new solutions and sustainably improve healthcare for the most vulnerable populations.
A fast and efficient response thanks to our local network
During crises—whether malnutrition, epidemics, conflict, or natural disasters—national health systems can become strained, endangering lives. Thanks to our NGO partners and local teams (95% of our staff comes from the countries where we operate), ALIMA quickly delivers adapted, high-quality care.
Mothers and children are the hardest hit by humanitarian crises, representing 80% of our beneficiaries. ALIMA creates free prevention, nutrition, pediatrics care, and maternal health programs in partnership with local and national authorities to address their specific needs.
Sustainable impact through innovation and partnership
Since its creation, ALIMA has been committed to providing emergency medical solutions while sustainably transforming the way we intervene in humanitarian contexts. By working hand in hand with local authorities, partners, and international experts, we deliver healthcare that is adapted to each crisis while building resilience for the future.
Our 7 Areas of Expertise
Epidemics and emerging diseases
ALIMA is often on the front line of epidemics such as Ebola, Mpox, or cholera. We deploy rapid, context-specific responses while working with authorities to contain outbreaks.
Malnutrition
Malnutrition threatens millions of children every year. ALIMA tackles this issue by detecting, treating, and preventing malnutrition while strengthening local health systems.
Women's Health
Women's health is at the heart of our interventions. From prenatal care and safe deliveries to postnatal follow-ups and complication prevention, ALIMA provides comprehensive support for women.
Pediatrics
In times of crisis, our medical teams mobilize to deliver specialized care to the most vulnerable children.
Mental health
Humanitarian crises impact not only physical health but also mental well-being. ALIMA incorporates psychosocial support for patients, families, and caregivers facing trauma.
Research and innovation
ALIMA conducts clinical and operational research to transform humanitarian practices and introduce more effective treatments, such as simplified approaches to treating malnutrition. The impact of these innovations has been recognized globally, including the "Game Changing Innovator" award from Bill Gates for the CUBE.
Strengthening the health system
ALIMA prioritizes strengthening the capacity of local infrastructure by training healthcare workers and improving equipment.
